Gav runs the OC Marathon

So I finally found something that Gav wanted to do other than surfing. This guy has been training for 10 weeks and ran his first race on Saturday. He did run a marathon length but it was split up into the 10 weeks. And on race day he ran 1 mile. I mean he sprinted 1 mile. The parents that ran with their kids had to be in the back at the starting line and I spent more than half the mile trying to catch up with him. When I finally did catch up to him I asked if he wanted to slow down a bit because he was slipping a little behind me at this point and he said, “No mom, I was just slowing down for you.” He finished strong and loved that he got a medal.
